Position Title: PhD Student - Multimodal Geometric Deep Learning in Medical Image Analysis

The PhD Student position will be realized at Sano and funded through Sonata-20 Grant of dr. Marek Wodziński: Multimodal Geometric Deep Learning in Medical Image.

Requirements:

The successful candidate for the position needs to:

Have a Master’s degree in a relevant field: computer science, biomedical engineering or similar;

Be enrolled in a doctoral school and realize a topic with significant relation to the Multimodal Geometric Deep Learning in Medical Image Analysis project. Have at least basic knowledge and practical skills in deep learning;

Have practical experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow;

Have basic experience in image processing & analysis, data science;

Possess a research record confirming authorship of at least 1 article related to the field of research – nice to have.

Tasks:

Development of algorithms based on point cloud representation in the reconstruction of medical structures;

Working on deep learning networks dedicated to processing point cloud representations dedicated to reconstructing medical structures and solve the associated problems (e.g. low quality of reconstructing fine details);

Development of algorithms for processing and analyzing data using the mesh representation;

Proposing, developing, and evaluating various algorithms dedicated to deep learning-based processing and analysis of surface mesh representations;

Development of multimodal geometric deep learning methods using different representations simultaneously;

Work with an associated PostDoc in preparing advanced multimodal architectures dedicated to simultaneously processing various geometric representations;

Prepare scientific publications and take part in international conferences to present the project outcomes.

Employment Conditions:

The involvement in the project will be based on a PhD scholarship agreement for a period of 36 months.

A scientific scholarship of PLN 5000 per month will be paid in accordance with the rules outlined in the NCN Regulations on Awarding Scientific Scholarships in Research Projects Funded by the National Science Centre (Annex to NCN Council Resolution No. 25/2024 of March 4, 2024).
